5 Minutes of Grace
So often I get caught up in ‘doing’ my job that I skip the tools that will make me better at it. A book with beautiful illustrations, photos of my last vacation, a cup of hot tea. These are all tools for me, tools to help me do my job better, both as a mom and a photographer. How? By taking me away from the moments that are causing me stress, giving me something to force me to sit. Sit and wait. Breathe. Realize that God is here in the macaroni-spilled-on-the-floor, He is here in the wedding album design that I see in my head but can’t create as I like it in Photoshop, He is here. Here. Now.
Breathe.
He gives grace, grace for the big things, grace for the small things. Grace is still grace, no matter what occasion calls for it. It’s grace when you’re able to accept the difficult, rejoice in the pain, live through the life-shattering. It’s still grace when you’re able to smile at the mess, tickle the mischievous, kiss the muddy, cuddle the tired-and-awake-at-midnight.
God gives us grace for life, so grab five minutes and a cup of tea, and see what He’s given you grace for today.

Photos and Art
I’m a self-taught photographer and when my vision started affecting my ability to take portraits, I needed an outlet for my creative drive. I asked for paints for my birthday in 2017, and loved how much I could do with acrylic paint. In 2019 I picked up watercolor as a way to release stress during hospital stays.
