Being on bedrest is hard on anyone. I think it’s especially trying on those who are more extroverted, and it can be downright depressing for a super-extrovert. (You know the kind, the person who never passes on an opportunity to be around people, who comes back from a huge group event jazzed and ready to go to the next five-days-around-1-million-people event.) I fall firmly in the latter category. I’m an extrovert to end all extroverts. I live for being around people, and my husband, an on-the-line between extrovert and introvert, is always amazed at how I am able to photograph a wedding and be physically tired but emotionally ramped up from being around PEOPLE all day.
Back to being on bedrest, I have especially noticed that Sundays are difficult. Not only am I missing my people fix, I’m also missing something else that is vital to any believer: fellowship and exhortation. Enter the wonderful resources on the Internet. I have started listening to Pandora Radio, and my favorite channels are those that are more acoustic worship with really strong lyrics. I also listen to our pastor’s sermons online. While this doesn’t really fulfill the fellowship quotient, it does serve to keep me connected to our church and in a worshipful mindset throughout the week.
